Neatly rounded, semi-double, fragrant flowers of pure crimson, later becoming purple-crimson; held daintily on thin, wiry stems. The long buds are sparsely covered with light green moss. Red hips later in the season. Vigorous growth, which may need supporting. Laffay, 1863.
